The inexperienced USA team pulled off an upset over Pakistan in the most unexpected way possible. However, it was the USA who came up with the better goods and scripted history at the Grand Prairie Stadium.

Rude Pakistan fan gets a befitting reply from USA cricketer

The battle on the cricket field ended in a 5-run win for the USA but there's another fight that happened far from the annals of the pitch, on social media. As the match was taking place, Jaskaran Malhotra, who plays cricket for USA, commented about the technique of Azam Khan, who was dismissed on a first-ball duck.

Witnessing the post, a user on X, evidently a Pakistan fan left a disrespectful comment.

"Kaise din aagaye USA reserve players Hume cricket sikha rahe", the fan wrote.

The comment did not age well as Pakistan lost the game to the USA. Noting the remark of the fan, Malhotra gave a befitting retort.

USA vs PAK: Match summary

After suffering the upset against the USA, the Pakistan team is facing criticism from all ends. Captain Babar Azam is drawing severe flak for the defensive strategies he carried forward as a leader and for his hold-up play. In the key moments when Pakistan needed quick runs, Babar Azam  was evidently overtly cautious and eventually compounded 44 runs but also took a staggering 43 balls to get there. A quick-fire 40 off 25 balls by Shaab Khan and Shaheen Afridi's positive intent with the bat, scoring 23 in 16 balls, helped Pakistan cross the 150 mark.

Chasing 160, the USA got the perfect start. Openers Steven Taylor and Monank Patel constructed a 36-run opening stand. Following Taylor's departure, Patel and Andries Gous scurried the US past the 100-run mark. Following that, Pakistan pacers brought their side back with a quick couple of wickets. In the end, the onus fell on Aaron Jones again. It was 12 needed in the final three balls of the match. Haris Rauf had the ball and Jones kept his calm to smash a six. He took a single on the following ball, leaving Nitish Kumar to score 5 runs on the last ball. Kumar got the boundary on the final ball to level the score and take the match to the super over.
