Team India’s star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has forged one of the most incredible comebacks one will ever see in cricket. From miraculously surviving a car crash that kept him on the sidelines from competitive cricket for one and a half years to gaining his confidence and getting the call up to represent Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Given his impressive performances in IPL 2024 as wicketkeeper, batsman and captain of Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant got the nod to represent India in USA and West Indies ahead of KL Rahul.
But as Team India jetted for the T20 World Cup in USA, Rishabh Pant touched upon how difficult the last year had been for him given his near death experience.

The 26-year-old had suffered multiple injuries following a near-fatal car crash on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in December, 2022.
"The accident was a life-changing experience for me. When I got up after it, I wasn't even sure if I would be alive, but God was very kind to save me," Pant said on "Dhawan Karenge", a talk show hosted by Shikhar Dhawan.
Rishabh Pant further opened up and said that due to his injury he had to spend a lot of time on his wheelchairs and was nervous if people got a glimpse of him on the wheelchair.
"I couldn't go to the airport because I was nervous about facing people in a wheelchair”, said Pant.
Not only that Rishabh Pant also revealed that he faced unbearable pain for 6-7 months and wasn’t even able to brush his teeth for two months.
“I couldn't even brush my teeth for two months, and for six to seven months, I suffered unbearable pain," said Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant miraculously cheated death but the injuries required a major knee surgery and an extensive rehabilitation about which Pant has already opened up.
But after 14 month hiatus, Pant finally returned to the cricket field and now in New York City, Pant has a nation’s dream riding on his shoulders as he will be vital if India want to win their first IPL trophy in 11 years and their second T20 World Cup crown.
