The 2023 World Cup commenced on Thursday with the opening match featuring England and New Zealand. New Zealand crushed the defending champions by a huge margin of 9 wickets. The ninth fixture of the tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, October 11, between India and Afghanistan. The match will be held at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. This is going to be a homecoming for former India skipper Virat Kohli, who has a pavilion named after him at the Delhi stadium.

Is Rohit Sharma injured?

Indian captain Rohit Sharma reportedly suffered a left foot injury during a practice session in Delhi before the upcoming match against Afghanistan. Rohit had to cut short his practice and was observed exiting the field alongside head coach Rahul Dravid. This development could potentially deal a significant setback to India's Cricket World Cup aspirations, given that Rohit is a crucial player in the team and an exceptional captain who sets a strong example for the squad.
