Whenever there is a cricket match between India and Pakistan, emotions on both sides of the border run high. On Sunday, during the T20 World Cup 2024 clash, India and Pakistan faced off at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York. India emerged victorious, defeating Pakistan by 6 runs to secure two crucial points and climb to the top of the Group A table.

Pakistani YouTuber shot dead before IND vs PAK game

Unfortunately, an incident marred the buildup to the match in Lahore. A Pakistani YouTuber named Saad Ahmed went to Lahore's mobile market to vlog in anticipation of the highly-anticipated game. However, the day took a tragic turn when Saad was shot dead by a security guard after asking questions about the match.

Pakistani media reports indicate that the security guard became agitated after being repeatedly questioned about the scheduled IND vs PAK game in New York. The security guard shot Saad Ahmed, who was then rushed to the hospital. Sadly, doctors declared Saad dead upon arrival.

An Instagram account shared the security guard's statement, in which he admitted to killing Saad. The guard explained that he lost his temper when Saad repeatedly brought the microphone close to his face.

"Mic baar baar moun pe la raha tha aur meri video bana raha tha. Mujhe gussa aaya aur maine goli mardi. Ha bhai mardia toh mardia (He kept bringing the mic close to my face and recording me. I got angry and shot him. Yes, I shot him, so what?)" the security guard was quoted as saying.

India vs Pakistan, T20 World Cup 2024

As far as the match is concerned, India came out on top after nearly 30 overs of Pakistan's domination. Pakistan won the toss and asked India to bat first on the New York pitch. There were overcast conditions and Pakistani bowlers capitalized well to bowl India out for just 119 runs. Rishabh Pant's contribution with the bat was the only positive takeaway from India's batting. Toward the end of the first innings, the sun started shining, which allowed Pakistani batters to bat in ideal conditions. 

However, Pakistan players showed why they are called the biggest chokers in world cricket as they couldn't even chase down a modest 120-run target. India bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah restricted Pakistan to 113/7 in 20 overs, winning by 6 runs. Bumrah picked up three wickets for 14 runs, securing the Player of the Match award.
