Shivam Dube, the all-rounder for India, has shared insights into the expectations set by head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma regarding his bowling ahead of the T20 World Cup. Despite limited opportunities to bowl in recent IPL 2024 matches, Dube remains optimistic and focused on his role in the Indian team.

Shivam Dube, one of the two fast-bowling all-rounders in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, has faced scrutiny for his sparse bowling outings. He bowled only one over in IPL 2024, yet made a significant impact by taking a wicket in that brief spell. The Impact Player rule in the IPL limited his chances with the ball, but his impressive batting performances ensured his selection in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

"I got to bowl only one over in IPL but it turned out to be a positive as I got the wicket in that over. I was working hard in the nets because I knew which aspect I needed to work on and so when I got the chance in the match it worked in my favour," Shivam Dube told Star Sports.

Shivam Dube reveals encouraging words from Rohit and Rahul

Shivam Dube further revealed the encouraging words from Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma before the T20 World Cup 2024. Dube revealed that Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have told him that he may get to bowl 2-3 overs. Apart from Shivam Dube, India also have the option of playing Hardik Pandya as a fast-bowling all-rounder. 

"Rahul bhai and Rohit bhai have told me that I might get to bowl 2-3 overs anytime, so I need to be ready for that. Rahul sir also told me to express myself during the Afghanistan series as the management wanted to look at me as an all-rounder. I got the freedom during the series. Rohit bhai also told me you will get chance to bat and bowl as he wanted to see what can I bring to the table as an all-rounder, which was a good chance for me and I grabbed it well," Dube said.
