Sara Tendulkar gives standing ovation to Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill, the Indian batsman, came tantalizingly close to achieving his first century in the ODI World Cup but fell just short, getting dismissed for 92 runs during their game against Sri Lanka at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Gill, who has been the subject of rumors linking him with Sara Tendulkar, daughter of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, played an unfortunate shot that led to his dismissal. While watching the match from the stands, Sara seemed visibly disappointed by Gill's exit. Nevertheless, she rose to her feet to applaud Gill with a standing ovation.

CWC 2023: Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli step up to rescue India

Gill was part of a superb partnership of 189 runs along with Virat Kohli, who was dismissed a few balls later for 88 off 94 balls. The duo took India from 4/1 at one stage to 193/2. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed earlier in the innings by Dilshan Madushanka.
