Strengths

Possesses one of the most formidable batting arsenal: West Indies carries one of the greatest hitting lineups in the tournament. They feature a variety of powerful batters, including Johnson Charles and Brandon King at the top and Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, and Rovman Powell in the lower half. It will be a formidable side to score against.

Quality finisher boosts the middle order: The West Indies boast powerful hitters in the top and middle orders, as well as lethal finishers in Andre Russell and Romario Shepherd. All of them can smash gigantic sixes, and given that Russell has been in excellent form in the IPL, it will be essential for the team.

The Home Advantage: Most of West Indies' games will be at their home venue, which will give them an added advantage to know the pitches and use it to their advantage  

Weakness

A subpar bowling line-up: The one place where the West Indies could be lacking is the bowling attack as even though they have top names like Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy and Shamar Joseph, the bowlers often concede a lot of runs.

Lack of spin attack: West Indies has a lack of options in spin bowling, as they only have Roston Chase, Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie on the side.

Opportunities

West Indies have been in a strong form lately and will be influential as they begin their campaign. Moreover, given that they failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup, they have a chance of redemption in the upcoming tournament.

Threats

Given that Jason Holder sustained an injury and was ruled out of the tournament, it is a blow to the team. Holder is a veteran in the game, and his guidance would have been pivotal. However, with him being out, it dampens the bowling attack.
