It's official now. It is raining heavily again. the match has been called off. USA qualifiers to the Super 8 stage from Group A along with India. Pakistan have been eliminated.

Umpires will come and have a look again at 10:45 PM IST.

Umpires walk out for yet another inspection. The pitch isn't a concern for them, but a few patches just beyond the 30 yard circle felt a bit damp earlier. The umpires are treading over those pitches, testing out the rigidity of the soil. The skies have cleared up significantly, so that's one positive.

Umpires will have one more pitch inspection, probably the last at 10 PM IST.

Reports are pouring in that the game is about to get called off. 

Umpires head out for their inspection. The pitch gets an all clear, no issues there. But there are a few damp patches further away from the wicket. When the umpires are treading through them, they are oozing some water.

Inspection about to happen. Dark clouds are still looming but the rain has stayed away. 

The umpires will have inspection at 9 PM and will decide the course afterwards.

The super soppers are in full swing at the outfield and the groundstaff are trying hard to dry up things as soon as possible. A few players are walking by the fringes of the outfield and there are a few 100 fans who've arrived at the stadium as well. The good news is the sun is shining bright at the moment...

The sun is out and it seems cricket is indeed destined for today.

Toss which was originally scheduled to take place at 7:30 PM IST, will be delayed.

According to former Pakistani cricketer, Wasim Akram, the sky is clear in Port Lauderdale but outfield is quite wet.
