Rahul Dravid and Team India support staff spend the day trekking

The Indian cricket team's support staff recently travelled to Triund in Dharamshala on an adventure tour while the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was in progress. Head coach Rahul Dravid and batting coach Vikram Rathour led the group. This hike gave a much-needed break from the hectic cricket activity, allowing the personnel to reconnect with nature and recharge.

Triund, a charming village in Himachal Pradesh at the foot of the majestic Dhauladhar range, is known for its breathtaking beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The trip is a popular path among outdoor enthusiasts, covering a distance of around 9 km and taking 4-6 hours to complete.

Despite the evident draw of the stunning scenery, Dravid expressed worries about the players' safety. He emphasised that the steep terrain made the walk too dangerous for the cricketers and emphasised the critical need to ensure their safety during the competition. In the video posted by BCCI, he said:

“Super view coming here up to Triund. Getting here, going up the mountains, climbing It’s a challenging trek I must admit,”

“Unfortunately, can’t bring the boys here. It's a bit too risky walking on those stones but hopefully when they’re not playing love for some of the boys to come here and experience this,”

“Once you come here the views are breathtaking, spectacular and it’s just incredible. Terrific for the support staff to be able to come here…just a great day out.”
