In a gripping match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, India showcased dominance by defeating Ireland by 8 wickets with 46 balls to spare in the World T20 encounter. Ireland posted 96 runs in 16 overs, but India efficiently chased down the target, reaching 97/2 in 12.2 overs. Rohit Sharma's brilliant 52 off 37 balls and Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 36 off 26 balls led India to victory. Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional bowling performance earned him the Player of the Match title for his 2 wickets for 6 runs in 3 overs.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is in awe of Player of the Match Jasprit Burah in India vs Ireland

Jasprit Bumrah's superb bowling effort in India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph against Ireland on Wednesday was commended by Navjot Singh Sidhu. The former Indian opener made clear that Bumrah can perform well in every situation, much like the great bowlers Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram.

At their Group A opener in New York, Bumrah helped India beat Ireland for only 96 runs with his outstanding 2-6 in his three overs. After then, Rohit Sharma's side easily chased down the mark and won by eight wickets with 46 balls remaining.

Sidhu stressed during his Star Sports analysis of the game that Bumrah's talent level is comparable to Younis and Akram's at their best years. Navjot Singh Sidhu said:

“Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram and Jasprit Bumrah don't need any conditions. They are quick in the air, know how to bowl yorkers and slower ones, and their deliveries swing late. It seems like someone has climbed on you. The deliveries tail in late, so you don't get the time,”

“Even when the batter tries to play the hook shot, it hits the sticker. So Jasprit Bumrah is a rare jewel. He has all the skills and is a complete bowler. Bowling yorkers with the new ball is a very big skill and I feel he is the most complete bowler among all bowlers who have come in Indian cricket,”

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Indian Cricket Team will play against Pakistan, their bitter rivals. The match is much awaited as Babar Azam and the team, who have a bad record against the giants in ICC games, will be playing the star-studded India.
