Team India defeated South Africa by 203 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the ongoing three-match Freedom Trophy Test series. With their victory, the Indian team remains World No 1 side in ICC Test rankings. The Virat Kohli-led team also continues to top the ICC World Test Championship points table with a perfect 160 points. The inaugural edition of World Test Championship began with the 2019 Ashes series, which was followed by a two-match series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand and continued with Indiaβs tour of West Indies. Teams like Pakistan and Bangladesh are yet to open their campaigns in the ongoing two-year tournament. The Bangladeshi team will be making their World Test Championship debut against India on November 14 while Pakistan will be touring Australia for a two-match Test series this November-December.
