Arsenal locked horns with London rival Chelsea on November 30, 2025, resulting in a 1-1 scrappy draw. This was Arsenal's chance to extend their lead and be seven points ahead of Manchester City; however, the Gunners failed to make the most out of this chance.
Additionally, the match saw one red card and a yellow card booking for the Chelsea side, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella, respectively. Meanwhile, the visitors faced no fewer than six bookings in the match as tempers flared against the 10-man Chelsea team. Piero Hincapie, Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Zubimendi, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Viktor Gyokeres all ended up in the referee's book during the match.
Mikel Arteta's side is expected to be hit with a hefty fine of £25,000 by the FA. This sanction is handed out to every club that picks up six or more yellow cards in a single game. Arsenal were previously hit with the same fine back in February 2024 after their match against Liverpool.

Manager Mikel Arteta On His Side Picking Up Six Bookings
The club manager noted that the players understood what was at stake, as it could be clearly seen in every duel. He shared, "Right from the beginning, you could sense how much was at stake. Every duel and action was full gas, very short sequences of play. With the 10 men, we expected a different game, we plan it, we went through it in the second half."
Arteta further added, "They get a free kick, and they score. Then it becomes a very tricky game to play. Overall, I think that when you don't win with 10 men for 45 minutes, you have to be disappointed."

Moises Caicedo Sent Off In First Half
Meanwhile, Chelsea will not face the same penalty, having only received two cards in the game. One of those was a red card against Moises Caicedo. Initially given yellow, it was later overturned after VAR reviewed the challenge on Arsenal player Merino.
