Cristiano Ronaldo signed a new Real Madrid contract on this day in '16

Former Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo signed a five-year contract with the Los Blancos on this day on November 7, 2016. However, the footballing great left the LaLiga giants at the end of the 2017-18 season after enjoying 9 years at the Bernabeu Stadium. Although the Portuguese star had agreed to stay at Madrid till 2021, however, he seemed to be compelled to join Juventus by the end of the 2018-19 season itself. Ronaldo will always be a part of Madrid's history and be known as one of the greatest players to wear the white jersey. He was presented at the Santiago Bernabéu on 6 July 2009, where he was companied by Eusebio and Alfredo Di Stéfano. Ronaldo scored 451 goals in 438 competitive appearances for Real Madrid. He averaged over a goal per game.

He has a series of trophies he won at Real Madrid which include 4 UEFA Champions Leagues, 2 LaLiga titles, 3 Club World Cups, 2 Copa del Rey titles and 2 Spanish Super Cups. This list of honours is completed with 5 Ballon D'Or awards, 3 Golden Shoe awards, 2 FIFA The Best awards, whilst he was named UEFA Best Player in Europe 3 times and landed the Pichichi crown on 3 occasions as well.
