Barcelona FC are looking to strengthen their squad heading into the 2023-24 La Liga and Champions League season and they have their eyes set on snapping up Spain's star player who has set the Euro 2024 on fire.
Ahead of Spain's semi final against France at Euro 2024, Barcelona President Joan Laporta confirmed that the club is interested on signing their star winger and have the financial capability to make it happen.
Football Club Barcelona roped in German manager Hansi Flick to improve their fortunes from last season where the club went trophy less and saw rivals Real Madrid win La Liga and Champions League.
Barcelona have decided not to make Portugal's Joao Felix's loan permanent hence leaving a vacancy on the flanks in attack. And Joan Laporta has publicly confirmed that he is interested in signing Euro 2024 revelation with Spain Nico Williams.

Nico Williams over the last couple of seasons has emerged as one of the most exciting players in La Liga playing for Basque club Athletic Bilbao. And he has announced himself in Europe with his fantastic performances for Spain at Euro 2024.
Joan Laporta confirmed that despite their recent financial struggles, Barcelona can afford the signing of Nico Williams.
“I like Nico, a lot. I can say that financially we can make it happen. It’s result of work that has been done over all these years to reach this point. We could, of course, face a signing of this level," said Joan Laporta on a potential attempt to sign Nico Williams.
Given Hansi Flick's liking for Nico Williams, Barcelona could very well be in the hunt to snap up the star winger.
Nico Williams is just 21 years of age and alongside Barcelona's 16-year old teenage sensation Lamine Yamal he has caused fireworks for Spain at Euro 2024. A potential Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal partnership at Barcelona would be a mouth watering prospect for the Catalan side.
Nico Williams penned a new deal with Athletic Bilbao at the end of last year. Hence any attempt to sign the winger will cost Barcelona around 58 Million Euros based on his reported release clause.
