'He’s very similar': David Beckham Sees Shades of Himself In 26-Year-Old Real Madrid Target
As every player has merits and limits of his own, it would be a herculean task to compare a player of today with any other baller, let alone David Beckham
Manchester United and England legend David Beckham was hailed as a complete player in his time. He could score, assist, deliver long balls, and it is needless to say anything about his free-kick ability, those who may not even follow the sport might have heard the echoes of him slotting the ball inside the net from a set piece. As every player has merits and limits of his own, it would be a herculean task to compare a player of today with any other baller, let alone David Beckham, who holds a stature of a stalwart. However, Beckham himself has found a player, who somewhat reminisces his style of play.
David Beckham Sees Shades of Himself in Trent Alexander-Arnold
According to David Beckham, Liverpool's fullback Tent Alexander-Arnold is to some degree similar to him. Beckham sees similarities in characteristics when he Trent delivers a cross, or his general way of passing the ball.
“If there was one player I look at, and I think he’s very similar in the way he delivers the ball, he’s very similar in the way he crosses the ball or passes, it has to be Trent [Alexander-Arnold]," Beckham said (via Empire of the Kop).
The former Real Madrid player also praised Trent's ability to envision the play, a quality that only a few possess.
“His vision, he’s unbelievable. And he’s an exceptional player, but when I look at a player and I think I see myself in the way he puts the ball in, what he sees, in the long balls that he plays. He plays balls that some players don’t even think about and that’s what I love about him as a player.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is currently a starter for The Reds. He is one of the leading targets of Real Madrid, who may push to sign him in the upcoming winter transfer window.
