Kerala Blasters have made a positive start to their Indian Super League (ISL) 2019-20 season with a 2-1 win over ATK in their first match. For their next match, Kerala Blasters will play a host to Mumbai City FC on October 24, 2019. Kerala Blasters' home crowd plays the role of a 12th-man for the team. They are loud, furious and eager to win, so playing Kerala at home won't come easy for the Mumbaikars. Kerala Blasters made it to the playoffs in 2014 and 2016 with a good home record.

Kerala Blasters boss Eelco Schattorie stated that playing at home is always an advantage. However, Mumbai will play their first match of the season and Kerala is still unaware about their playing style. Mumbai FC's manager Jorge Costa seemed to have observed Kerala's playing style after their first match. Costa said that that they have studied Kerala Blasters' performance from their opener and termed them as a good opponent.
