Lamine Yamal Heads Home! Leaves Spain Squad Amidst Risk Of Injury, To Miss Game Against Serbia
Lamine Yamal left the Spanish camp after the young star strained a muscle and there was a risk of injury on the player.
Spain have been on a run in International football as they have managed to win the Euro 2024 and the Olympics Gold Medal all in the same year. They are now on a quest to win the UEFA Nations League. One of their key players in several of their matches and the Euro and Nations League campaign has been young Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal. Lamine Yamal has played pivotal roles in ensuring the Euro for Spain and is also a key player for FC Barcelona. There is some concerning news coming out of Spain's Euro camp as Lamine Yamal has been sent back to Barcelona.
Lamine Yamal strained a muscle during Spain's game against Denmark and thus due to there being a risk of injury has been sent back. Due to this Lamine Yamal has also been ruled out of Spain's UEFA Nations League match against Serbia which will take place on 15th October.
Lamine Heads Back To Barcelona
Teenage standout Lamine Yamal has left Spain’s squad after he strained a muscle in his left leg.
Yamal will miss Spain’s Nations League home game against Serbia on Tuesday.
A day after the 17-year-old forward helped Spain beat Denmark 1-0, the Spanish soccer federation said Sunday that tests indicated the Barcelona star had strained a leg muscle and was being sent back to his club to avoid “the risk of injury.”
Yamal was a key player in Spain’s triumph at this year’s European Championship.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente called up Atletico Madrid player Rodrigo Riquelme in Yamal’s place.
Barcelona’s next game is at home against Sevilla on Oct. 20 in the Spanish league, following which they have big games against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
