Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic is reportedly being targeted by struggling Premier League giants Manchester United. According to multiple reports, the Serie A club has reduced their asking price for the 33-year-old striker. United were close to signing the Juventus star in summer transfer window for a reported £14 million, however, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pulled out from the transfer. Currently, Solskjaer’s side is looking forward to strengthening their attack and is keen on signing players who can create and score goals. Mandzukic is looked as Romelu Lukaku's replacement.

Mario Mandzukic to United?

United have struggled up front with below-par performances from striker Marcus Rashford. The in-form Anthony Martial has been out with injury since a month as the club switched focus to 18-year-old academy graduate Mason Greenwood to score goals.

“Of course, when we let Alexis (Sanchez) and (Romelu) Lukaku go, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know it’s a forward we’re going to try to recruit next time,” Solskjær told Sky Sports.

Multiple UK outlets suggest that United are preparing to make a new move for the Croatian in January. Juventus are reportedly willing to accept a lower fee of £9 million for the forward. Mandzukic has not been featured in any games for the Turin club this season. The Croatian was also left out from the Champions League squad by Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri. Lige 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are interested too. The reports further suggest that Mandzukic is adamant that he wouldn’t want a pay cut in his current £4.5 million salary.
