Valencia are up for their second match in Champions League group stage and will be hosting Ajax at Mestalla Stadium. Valencia clinched a 0-1 victory over Chelsea and Ajax managed to down LOSC in their Matchday 1 of Champions League 2019-20 group stage matches. Ajax are on the top of the table, while Valencia have held the second spot respectively.

Valencia vs Ajax: Match preview
Valencia and Ajax will be facing each other for the third time in Champions League. They last faced each other on March 2003 and both the clashes ended on a 1-1 draw. The Spanish side is yet to lose a game against a Dutch team in the Champions League, (Win 2, Draw 4). In Valencia's last six Champions League games versus a Dutch-based team, neither side has netted more than one goal in a match. Ajax have been in the losing side in 11 of their last 13 Champions League match against a Spanish team (Win 2).

Ajax have won their last four away games in the Champions League, their longest winning run since March 1997 (7 away games) under their previous coach Louis van Gaal. Whereas, Valencia are looking to register their third consecutive home win in Champions League for the first time since November 2012. Valencia have failed to win their opening two UEFA Champions League match of a season since 2006-07. Erik ten Hag's side has not lost their last-16 UEFA European group stage matches (Win 9, Draw 7) across Champions League and Europa League.

Dusan Tadic created four chances for Ajax against Lille on Matchday 1 but could not register an assist. The Serbian is a very critical player for the team as he has managed to create 41 chances for Ajax since the start of last season. Valencia's Daniel Parejo created chances against Chelsea and registered an assist to his name in Matchday 1.
