Vinicius Jr capped off a splendid 2023/24 season by leading Real Madrid to their 15th Champions League title and second in three years. Vinicius Jr scored the second and decisive goal for Real Madrid in the 83rd minute at the Wembley stadium as Los Blancos beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to emerge victorious. 

As soon as the final whistle blew celebrations poured in for Real Madrid for their 15th Champions League crown. And the Brazilian winger Vini Jr who started as a young prodigy at the club has emerged as one of the best players in the world. He has now scored two goals in two Champions League finals and is rightfully receiving the shouts to win the Ballon D'Or. 

Post Real Madrid's Champions League triumph, club President Florentino Perez gave a huge shout out to their number 7 and backed him to win the Ballon D'or in 2024.

Florentino Perez backs Vinicius Jr to win Ballon D'or

As Real Madrid won the final, Florentino Perez opened up and touched upon the fact that the club shares a wonderful relation with the competition and they believe the competition is theirs. 

He further lauded Vinicius Jr for his spectacular performances throughout the season and said that he deserves to win the Ballon D'Or of the season. 

“Vini Jr should win Ballon d’Or. There is no doubt”, said Florentino Perez. 

Vinicius Jr scored 23 goals and provided 11 assists and led Real Madrid to the La Liga and Champions League title.

Florentino Perez wasn't the only one to make a case for Vinicius Jr to win the Ballon D'Or, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, teammate Jude Bellingham, former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand and Thierry Henry all said that Vinicius Jr is the best player in the world and deserves to win the Ballon D'Or.
