Al-Nassr FC prevailed 2-1 against Al-Shabab FC in the Saudi Pro League in an exciting clash that lasted for 90+7 minutes. Aymeric Laporte scored for Al-Nassr in the 69th minute of the very active game; Ali Alhassan then made a late own goal in the 90th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty in the 90+7th minute guaranteed Al-Nassr's victory, therefore marking a turning point in stoppage time as the star Portuguese took the responsibility on his shoulders to save his team yet again while nearing 40 years of age. Therefore, Al-Nassr FC keeps up its outstanding league performance, ranking second place behind Al-Hilal.

Once again proving his key importance for Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo Rising to the challenge on Friday, the Portuguese star turned a last-minute penalty into a crucial win for his club. Al-Shabab had an opportunity to level shortly after but missed converting their own penalty, therefore guaranteeing Al-Nassr's victory.

Al-Nassr, following the leaders Al-Hilal, continues in the hunt for the Saudi Pro League championship victorious. Al-Shabab was a challenging opponent only two points behind, and Al-Nassr needed this victory to stay competitive, and Ronaldo made sure they did.
 

Both teams created little possibilities, hence the first half was fiercely contested. Aymeric Laporte handed Al-Nassr the lead in the 69th minute; he scored a perfect left-footed effort after a corner kick that resulted in a box scramble.

Al-Nassr's lead proved temporary, however. Trying to stop a cross from Nawaf Al-Sadi, replacement Ali Al-Hassan unintentionally dropped the ball into his own goal in the 90th minute, levelling the score for Al-Shabab.

Al-Nassr persisted on for a winning goal even with the late equaliser. Their tenacity paid off when Abdulrahman Ghareeb was fouled in the area during stoppage time, drawing a penalty. Real to form, Ronaldo boldly turned the spot-kick and went on to score his 907th career goal the most by any in the world football history.

Al-Shabab launched one more effort just when the game looked to be fading, drawing a penalty after a VAR review.

By a strange turn of events, Al-Shabab's Abderrazak Hamdallah missed the post with his penalty and failed to emulate Ronaldo's accomplishment. Al-Nassr was able to enjoy their triumph and land a hard-earned win thanks to their star captain Cristiano Ronaldo.

Having won all seven of their games, Al-Hilal leads the Saudi Pro League with 21 points at the moment. They beat Al Feiha a convincing 3-0. With 17 points, Al-Nassr currently ranks second; closely followed by Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad with 15 points, who have a game against Al Qadisiya.
