F1 Design Legend All Set To Be Announced As The Newest Addition To Aston Martin
F1 design legend Adrian Newey is all set to be announced as the newest member of the Aston Martin F1 team before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
There has been months and months of speculation regarding which team F1 design legend Adrian Newey will join ever since he announced his departure from Red Bull. Earlier speculations stated that the F1 car designer will be moving to Ferrari in their quest to go back to their legendary winning ways but now it seems that is not the case. It is being reported that Adrian Newey is all set to be announced by the Aston Martin F1 team as their newest team member. It is being reported that the announcement will be made right before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix to be held in Baku.
What Lawrence Stroll Did To Secure Newey's Services
It is key to note that Lawrence Stroll did a lot of personal bidding in order to get the services of F1 design legend Adrian Newey. Lawrence Stroll has invested hugely in a state-of-the-art facility that will have a new wind tunnel as a part of it which will be running soon.
A secret visit to the Aston Martin facilities is being reported as the reason for Newey to get fully convinced to join Aston Martin as the team can provide him with what he wants.
The announcement regarding the hiring of Newey comes from a massive hiring drive by Aston Martin who are trying to get all the top engineering talents in F1 in order to push their championship agendas.
It is also worth noting that even after signing with Aston Martin, Newey will not be able to work for the team until a six-month window expires.
Fernando Alonso's Take On Newey Joining Aston Martin
Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso was asked about his take on Newey joining Aston Martin to which he said that all of it is only rumors and they cannot be dependent on one person to fix things.
“Well, still only rumors. And I think it's not only [a] one-man job to fix the things.
“So it's more what we have now and what we are producing; understand what is going in the right direction, what is going on the wrong direction and try to prepare 2025 in a better way.”
Alonso believes that Aston Martin still has work to do and they need to keep improving for 2025.
