Oscar Piastri has been the most consistent driver during the weekend so far as he has constantly been delivering for his McLaren team. The consistency from Piastri has finally paid off as he stormed to pole position on Saturday while also converting that pole position into a win on 23rd March 2025 as he got his first win of the 2025 season. Oscar Piastri finished the race ahead of his teammate Lando Norris and Mercedes driver George Russell who finished in second and third respectively.
Oscar Piastri had a wonderful start to the Chinese Grand Prix as he was able to pull away from Lando Norris and George Russell at the start of the race. Piastri from there on continued that momentum as he won his first race of the 2025 Formula One season in China.
It also turned out to be a dream weekend for McLaren as they got a 1-2 which meant leaving China with the maximum number of points a team can take from a grand prix weekend. Piastri faced no troubles in his drive as he got a comfortable victory in China.
Lando Norris now also holds the lead in the World Drivers Championship whereas McLaren are now the Constructors Championship leaders.
It was another disappointing afternoon for Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton as Lewis Hamilton could only manage P6 after winning the Sprint Race over the weekend. There are many questions around where has the pace of the Ferrari which was seen in the Sprint disappeared in the main race.
Lewis Hamilton's teammate Charles Leclerc finished just ahead of him as he got a P5 to make it a Ferrari 5-6 in the Chinese Grand Prix.
The next race on the F1 calender now is the Japanese Grand Prix on 6th April.
