'Lord Have Mercy': Football Fans in Utter Shock After Liverpool Star Diogo Jota Reportedly Passes Away in Car Crash

Diogo Jota Car Crash: In what can be labelled as ‘shocking’, star Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has reportedly died in a car crash in Spain. The news has already shocked the footballing universe, who are mourning now. As per reports, the horrific crash happened 65 kilometres of the A-52, Zamora. According to the same report, the car also had his brother Andre and is believed to have gone off the road. It is reported that Jota and his brother were travelling in a Lamborghini. More information is trickling in at the moment. 

Witnesses claimed all they saw was the car in flames.

For the unversed, the Liverpool striker got married just days before the crash. Jota married his fiancée, Rute Cardoso. The couple had three children. Fans on social space are already mourning the death. Here are some of the heartbreaking reactions doing the rounds.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher wrote on Instagram: “Absolutely devastated by the sad news about Diogo Jota. Thoughts are with his wife Rute and their three kids.”

Jota Starred at Anfield

Jota, who joined Liverpool back in 2020, was a big star at Anfield. In 182 appearances, he found the back of the net on 65 occasions. Jota also featured in 49 games for Portugal. He also featured in the UEFA Nations League last month where Portugal beat Spain in the summit clash.
