The supposed unplanned meet-up between the MMA professionals took place on the Day of Reckoning, a boxing event, where Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua were on the fight card.

Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya are without a doubt two of the biggest names in MMA, who because of the weight division restrictions would never come across inside the Octagon, but an outside encounter is always a possibility. At the start of 2023, UFC president, now CEO, Dana White announced that the year would witness the return of Conor McGregor, and Michael Chandler was named as his opponent. Since then 11 months have gone by and there is still no official announcement of a McGregor return. According to knowers, him not entering the USADA pool, has created the delay. As things stand, there is still no clarity regarding when the biggest name in the history of MMA will again set foot inside the eminent Octagon.
