'I know what you are trying': Rohit Sharma gives a clever answer about T20 World Cup plans

India and South Africa will play a two-match Test series against each other starting December 26. Rohit Sharma touched down in South Africa last week, taking charge of India's training sessions in Pretoria and Centurion. The skipper actively participated in an intra-squad match, which was conducted away from public view.

Rohit Sharma clears the air on his T20 World Cup participation 

Ahead of the first Test match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma held a press conference, where he spoke about various topics. Expressing clear determination, Rohit Sharma informed the media that the team is eager to secure a Test series victory in South Africa, a feat no previous Indian side has accomplished.

When questioned about his aspirations for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024, Rohit Sharma responded to the journalist in a manner that revealed little. Speculation surrounds Sharma's future in T20Is, considering he has not featured in the format at the international level since India's exit in the T20 World Cup semi-final in 2022. 

"Desperation is always there to play good cricket. Everybody wants to do well. Whenever we get opportunity, we want to do well. Everybody is keen on it. I know what you are trying to say. Milega, aapko jawab milega uska (you will get the answer to it soon)," Rohit Sharma said in the press conference on Monday.

The first Test match between India and South Africa will be played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. The previous Test series between the two sides ended in a 2-1 victory for South Africa. Virat Kohli was the captain of the Indian team back then.
