With a high medal count of 29 medals, India achieved its finest performance in any Paralympics tournament ever. Of these 29 medals, 7 gold, 9 silver, and 13 bronze medals comprised the set. India's Navdeep Singh won the men's javelin event, therefore earning the 7th gold medal for the country at the close of the Paralympics. Navdeep Singh originally was on a silver medal but was disqualified by the Irani athlete Beit Sayah Sadegh. Beit Sayah Sadegh was disqualified for raising a dubious flag, which converted Navdeep's silver to a gold medal.
With a throw of 47.32m, Navdeep Singh secured India's gold.

One of the most interesting moments of the interaction was when Para Javelin Gold medallist Navdeep shared his experience with PM Modi about how he was nervous ahead of his event which was scheduled during the end of the competition. He shared that how anxious he felt when everyone around him started winning medals. He shared how the senior athletes of India help him deal with the pressure. Navdeep Singh said: Sir my name is Navdeep.
PM Narendra Modi said: This time he is the one whose reel went the most popular. First it’s you and then it’s Sheetal.
Navdeep continued : Sir I compete in F41 Javelin this is my second participation in the Paralympics. Sir my event was on the last day and I came there on 21st and when medal started coming I got very nervous like everyone is winning then what will happen when it’s my turn (everyone chukles and it’s all smiles) but then the senior athletes like Sumit bhai, Ajeet Bhaisaab, Sandeep Bhaisaab and Davinder sir. I met them every day to gain some experience like how to deal with such situations and when my chance came at the end I played with complete free mind.
In the Men's Javelin F41 Final of the Paris Paralympics, Iranian para-athlete Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified. Navdeep Singh had a silver medal finish, but that was turned into gold as a result, adding another medal to India's official count.
The Indian contingent concluded its historic campaign at the Paris Paralympics with 29 medals, including seven gold, nine silver, and thirteen bronze. This was the most medals won by a nation in the history of the competition. India's campaign at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics exceeded their best-ever results, where they won a total of 19 medals: five gold, eight silver, and six bronze.
