‘On the Right Track’: Indian Archers Bommadevara, Bhakat Emit Positivity After Advancing to Quarters

India archers at Paris Olympics have secured a direct quarterfinal entry. Stars like Dhiraj Bommadevara & Ankita Bhakat have reflected upon their performances.

India began their stint in the Paris Olympics as the Archery competition commenced with some of the country's premier archers facing off against some of the world's notable athletes. Dhiraj Bommadevara, Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur, and more were in action in singles and doubles action, and they impressed in their respective outings. India has secured a direct place in the quarterfinal of the Men's team archery, and archer Bommadevara revealed his thoughts after securing a spot in the quarters race. He expressed that the team is on the right course and that they have been preparing for the showcase event for the past two years.

India Archer Dhiraj Bommadevara & Women’s Archers Express Positivity After Strong Showcase at Paris Olympics

The men's archery team from India, which consists of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Jadhav, qualified directly for the event's quarterfinals at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris after placing third with 2013 points on Thursday. Archer Dhiraj opened up about his emotions following Team India's impressive performance against some of the best archers in the world, saying that they are on the correct course.

"I am very happy with my performance today. We have been preparing for the games for the last two years and we are on the right track... We are focusing on what we are supposed to do," Dhiraj Bommadevara said as per ANI.

Apart from the men's side, the Women's also put up a strong display after securing a fourth-place finish with 1983 points and getting a direct qualification for the event's quarterfinals in Paris Olympics. Following the qualifier, archers Ankita Bhakat and Bhajan Kaur also discussed their opinions.

Bhakat stated that she gave it her all and performed well, but she was not happy with her performance. Her best was yet to come, she promised. According to Bhajan Kaur, they will attempt to perform even better because there is still a lot of competition.

"Everything went well. We will try to perform even better because a lot of competition is yet to come... We have become used to the wind and the weather in Paris as we came here some time ago...," Kaur said.
