In a shocking turn of events, Carlos Alcaraz has crashed out of the US Open. The Paris Olympics silver medalist's performance has took a hit which has impacted his skills. Carlos Alcaraz's Grand Slam Reign Ends as Unseeded Botic Van De Zandschulp Snaps 15-match Streak
Carlos Alcaraz was handed a heavy defeat by the hands of the 74th-ranked Botic van de Zandschulp. Alcaraz lost to the unseeded Dutch Tennis star in a straight-set loss in the second round of the US Open. It is a stunning development, since Alcaraz was one of the favourites to win the title at Flushing Meadows. With the loss, Alcaraz's unbeaten 15-match Grand Slam run comes to an end as he makes an early exit from the tournament after he crashes out.
“It was a fight against myself, in my mind, during the match. In tennis, you are playing against someone that wants the same as you — to win the match — and you have to be as... calm as you can, just to think better in the match and try to do good things. Today I was playing against the opponent, and I was playing against myself, in my mind. A lot of emotions that I couldn’t control,” Alcaraz said in the post-match interview on the court.

The results are particularly hard to believe as the number three-seeded Alcaraz. One of the biggest reasons for the Spanish tennis star's performance could be fatigue, which he too agreed that he did not have that energy when he came to the Flushing Meadows. But he intends to not use it as an excuse. With his exit, Carlos may take a break for a while before returning to competitive action.
