'I’m Cooked!': AJ Styles Confirms His Injury Is Legit, Provides Diagnosis After Short-lived Comeback

While some fans on social media thought AJ Styles' injury was staged, he came clean, revealing that he suffered genuine damage and sustained a Lisfranc Injury.

The WWE fans received what they wanted when they got the return of the veteran wrestler, AJ Styles. The superstar wrestler has been away from live television and has only been a part of the promotion's live events. Biot on the October 4th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the Phenomenal One made his return to live TV and was instantly engaged in a match against Carmelo Hayes. But the match-up had to be cut short after Styles allegedly suffered an injury. While several fans believe it to be a work, the veteran has officially revealed that his injury is legitimate and offered a diagnosis.

AJ Styles Reveals He Has Sustained a Real Injury at WWE SmackDown

AJ Styles made his return in the October 06th edition of Friday Night SmackDown amidst a lot of hype and fervour. He looked to be a face character as he cut a promo and was interrupted by Carmelo Hayes, and a match was set up between both of them. But the match-up had to be cut short after Styles landed awkwardly and was seen clutching his foot. While several fans on social media believed it to be a work, the Phenomenal One had to come clean, revealing that he has suffered legitimate damage, and sustained a Lisfranc Injury.

"It’s called a Lisfranc injury. Look it up, it sucks! I thought when I took off my boot. I would have a bone sticking out of my foot," AJ Styles tweeted on 'X' [Formerly Twitter]

Lisfranc Injury is an instance when the bones in the midfoot are broken or the ligaments which hold up the midfoot are torn. While the severity of the 47-year-old's injury is unavailable, he could be out for an extensive period of time. The injury struck him at a time when he was supposed to run a retirement angle of the future Hall of Famer.

The damage caused by the injury is severe, as it is known to take out American Football's running back athletes. Styles expressed the same expression while responding to a fans' tweet as he said, "Bingo, as the kids say….I’m cooked!"
