Weeks after John Cena's shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber, the self-professed 'Face That Runs The Place' finally addressed his actions in the latest episode of WWE Raw that was live in Brussels, Belgium.

Cena emerged to the same theme music he used for years, dressed in exactly the same manner - but his demeanour was different and the usually mixed reaction he would get from fans was firmly negative.

So loud and vociferous was the booing that he was unable to get a word in at first. He teased walking away, which led to a brief respite that was ended by 'you sold out' chants from the capacity crowd.

And when he was finally able to get a few words in, it only made the fans feel more incensed.

"For 25 years, I have been the victim of an abusive relationship."

John Cena Goes Scorched Earth on WWE Fans

Cena addressed the idea that, despite him doing whatever he had to for fans and for the WWE, it was never enough for some fans who only cared about themselves and not him.

"No matter what I do, it is never enough and you should all be ashamed of yourselves. All you ever do is take ... and you only care about yourselves. I put my values on the line to make a very important choice in my life and all you could think was ‘what do we get'? Not one of you asked me how I feel."

To make things worse, he even addressed the people who cheered for him over all these years. Cena said that all they did was steal his time and his moments - and turned him into an online joke.

He called out a child in the crowd wearing one of his latest T-shirts, saying he too is part of the toxic relationship. The child was reduced to tears.

Cody Rhodes Addresses John Cena

Cena's time on the mic was eventually cut short by Cody Rhodes, with the WWE champion interrupting Cena to massive cheers from the crowd.

Rhodes countered Cena's points, ending his tirade by saying he wanted to wrestle the 'real' John Cena and not this version - whom he promised to retire early at WrestleMania.

Before things could get physical, Rhodes exited the stage and Cena followed suit shortly thereafter. The two will clash at WrestleMania 41.
