If you are a Realme user, then there is good news as select smartphones are now officially eligible to be seeded with ColorOS 6.0 that is based on Android 9.0 (Pie) firmware. These “eligible” smartphones are the Realme C1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, the Realme U1 and the Realme 1, then finally the Realme 2 Pro handsets.

Now, Realme in an official forum posting has stated that users of the above smartphones would be able to beta test Android Pie and report issues/bugs, if any, directly. Here, also remember that Realme has committed to releasing the Digital Wellbeing functionality in a future over-the-air (OTA) update to the handsets.

Hence, if you happen to use the Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, Realme C1, Realme 1, and the Realme U1 smartphones, then you should know that the rollout of Android Pie beta would be a phased one and would take at least 15 days to complete rollout which is the transcendence from beta version of Android Pie to the final version.

There is also the Google Android Q beta update that is slated to hit the newer Realme 3 Pro and the default camera app for this version would be the Snapdragon Camera rather than the default Google Camera application.

Finally, coming back to the older Realme smartphones, you could manually check for the newer beta firmware by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Updates > Check for updates.

At this juncture, with Realme 3 Pro having turned out to be an important smartphone with respect to the amount of interest it has generated and the elusiveness for buyers during its flash sales, it only becomes naturally intriguing to revisit the key technical specifications of the handset; these are:

  • 6.3-inch full HD display having resolutions of  2340 x 1080 pixels
  • ColorOS 6.0 - based on Android 9.0 platform
  • Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 AIE processor
  • 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras
