JioSaavn now official: Here’s what's in store and how you can avail three-month free subscription

JioSaavn music-streaming service has officially arrived on Android, iOS and desktop, as expected. The merger between Jio Music and Saavn was long-awaited ever since Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd. acquired the majority of stake in Saavn back in March this year. The merger has apparently made JioSaavn South Asia’s largest streaming, entertainment and artist platform. Apart from Android, iOS and desktop, JioSaavn app will be available on JioPhone.

At the time of writing, both JioSaavn and Saavn Music apps are currently listed on Google Play Store under Saavn Media Pvt. Ltd. However, JioMusic app is no longer available on Play Store. Meaning, Jio must have updated the existing JioMusic app automatically to JioSaavn. Existing users of Saavn will not be upgraded automatically to JioSaavn though. Saavn users can manually install JioSaavn app. However, their existing pro subscription will remain unchanged.

How to download JioSaavn app

JioSaavn app is available to download via Google Play Store for Android and App Store for iOS users. Search for JioSaav app. In case you are not able to search by the name (as happened in our case), go to jio.com/jioSaavn. You’ll find options to download JioSaavn app on your smartphones.

How to avail complimentary JioSaavn subscription

Jio announced that JioSaavn will be offered on a freemium model. All users can streaming music for free on the ad-supported product. Pro subscribers, on the other hand, benefit from the ad-free experience and offline access. As part of the launch offer, all Jio users avail a 90-day extended free trial of JioSaavn Pro.

JioSaavn looks more or less similar to Saavn. As a result, existing Saavn users will not encounter any drastic design overhaul except for the colour theme. Contrary to that, JioSaavn will turn out to be a whole different experience for JioMusic users.
