TikTok has finally responded to a controversy erupted last week after a TikTok video shot in Delhi's Jama Masjid went viral. Here's what happened:

Last week, a viral TikTok video shot in Delhi's Jama Masjid caused a massive controversy after the administration imposed a ban on tourists from entering the Mosque except for those visiting for a prayer. The viral TikTok video showed two foreign women dancing to film songs inside the mosque.

Shortly after the incident made the headlines, TikTok issued a statement saying that the video has been removed. TikTok also said the app doesn't endorse or promote videos violating its community guidelines. Read the full statement from TikTok below:

"At TikTok, we are committed to maintaining a safe and positive in-app environment for our users as we encourage them to showcase their creativity and talent. TikTok in no way endorses or promotes videos that violate our comprehensive Community Guidelines. In line with this, we do not condone posting content that might offend or disrespect any person, place or religious beliefs. We have already removed the video in question as well as any other related videos. We are also closely continuing to monitor this situation, along with taking appropriate actions.”
