According to a new report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature to let Android users search and add third-party stickers on photos, videos and GIFs they share with their contacts. Upcoming WhatsApp update for Android is said to bring a new search bar as an improvement over the existing doodle feature to let users explore third-party stickers they can add onto photos, videos and GIFs before sharing with their contacts, similar to iOS. WhatsApp is maybe extending it to Android.

The search feature is reportedly available with WhatsApp Messenger for Android beta version 2.19.71. Therefore these new improvements for the WhatsApp doodle are not available for general users. WhatsApp could be working on making these features available in future updates. So, even if you update your WhatsApp Android to its most up-to-date version, you will not be able to see the feature just yet.

Folks over at WAbetainfo recently shared a screenshot offering glimpse of what the search bar and doodle improvements could look like.

As seen on the screenshot, the update brings a new layout that resembles the one implemented on iOS to a great extent, the update seems to include two new options while sending photos, videos and GIFs: Stickers and Emojis. The report says WhatsApp is still improving this aspect of their Android app, which will further allow users to add first and third-party WhatsApp stickers.

So you can soon expect to be able to add stickers on images, videos and GIFs. Furthermore, the screenshot also shows a Search button to quickly search stickers, similar to Instagram. We are seeking more clarity on with regards to a timeline of the rollout for all WhatsApp Android users.
