Huawei subsidiary Honor has launched its budget fitness band Honor Band 4 in India at a price of Rs 2,599. Honor, to recall, had announced the Honor Band 4 for the Indian market in late November alongside the Honor 8C. The company had however not disclosed pricing of its new fitness wearable device at that time.

The Honor Band 4, Honor has announced, will be available for buying in India from December 18 exclusively via online retail website Amazon India. It will compete directly with the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, which brings almost similar features at an even more affordable price.

In terms of specifications, the Honor Band 4 comes with a 0.95-inch curved AMOLED colour touchscreen display with 240x120 pixel resolution. It features a design which is a lot reminiscent to the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 including a single circular button that functions as the home button.

The Honor Band 4 brings real-time heart rate and sleep monitoring to the masses. The wearable packs Huawei’s TruSeen 3.0 heart rate technology that will allow users to monitor their heart rate 24 hours continuously and share heart rate warnings. The Honor Band 4 further leverages Huawei’s TruSleep technology to let users track their sleeping activities and can automatically record user periods of Rapid Eye Movement or REM.

Moreover, the Honor Band 4 is 5ATM-certified and can recognize swim strokes, record swimming speed, distance and calories.

In addition to fitness tracking, the Honor Band 4 can let users view and respond to notifications including answering and rejecting phone calls. Honor is touting 17 days of battery life based on normal usage on single charge which isn’t as ambitious as the 20-day battery life quoted by Xiaomi for the Mi Band 3, but it’s still outstanding on paper.

"At Honor, we are constantly working towards solving consumer’s pain point and providing innovative products to our consumers and the launch of Honor Band 4 is a testament to our efforts. In today’s stressful environment, it’s important for everyone to lead a healthy lifestyle by having a balanced diet, doing regular exercise and having adequate sleep every day. With Honor Band 4, consumers can track all these activities and lead a healthy and active lifestyle,” Suhail Tariq, CMO at Huawei Consumer Business Group, said while announcing the Honor Band 4 for the Indian market.

The Honor Band 4 will be available for buying in as many as three colours, Meteorite Black, Midnight Navy and Dahlia Pink.
