It now seems that the official Indian launch of the Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 6 Pro has triggered a massive mid-range smartphones war even before a wider release of the smartphone. The latest entrant in this battle is now apparently the Honor 8C that is said to be launched on November 29. USP of this development  is that a host of other mid-rangers are also said to be launched during the same week thereby obviously drawing parallels to that of a mid range smartphone battle, theoretically.

Now, rumour mills have also gone overboard with respect to the pricing of the Honor 8C; price tag is speculated to be INR 15000. At this point in time, it is worth noting that the Honor 8C has already been launched in China and the key technical specifications of the handset indicate that it is going to give users a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC.

All eyes are on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset that comes with the Adreno 506 GPU which should allow for relatively intuitive gaming as far as avoiding performance lags are concerned. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro also incorporates an Adreno 509 GPU (in tandem with a Snapdragon 636); hence, a real-world test should bring out clarity as far as gaming performance is concerned.

Hence, at this juncture, the Huawei Honor 8C and the Redmi Note 6 Pro could go head to head over price tag and the actual smartphone performance. Another interesting factor here could be the identical 4000mAh Lithium-Polymer battery that the phones incorporates.

As far as its key technical specifications are concerned, the Honor 8C incorporates:

  • 6.26-inch display
  • Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC
  • 13 MP +2 MP rear cameras
  • 8 MP front snapper
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants
  • LTE, HSPA, GSM, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, micro USB connectivity
  • 4000 mAH fixed Lithium-Polymer battery.

It is certain that Honor 8C launch will be closely watched by Xiaomi and other mid-rangers
