Would there be a new Microsoft Windows operating system? This is certainly an intriguing and important question which even experienced analysts seem to have no answer to; highly-placed technical folks at Redmond are the most appropriate persons to answer the question. It now seems like the folks have done just this.

At the current Computex in Taipei, Microsoft’s Rodney Clark, and Roanne Sones threw light on various Windows PC-related aspects, and these included mentions of a “modern operating system” that facilitates seamless updates done in the background without even the user getting to know. Other parameters for the modern operating system includes the likes of it being “secure by default” and “connected always” (with even 5G networks).

Here, if you gauge the above carefully, it is evident that the current-gen Windows 10 certainly comes across as not being a modern operating system. This means that there has to be a “modern iteration” of an operating system that fits well into futuristic computers that could drive user productivity even more scientifically than before.

In this regard, Microsoft, at the Computex, stressed on recent hardware viz. Acer ConceptD 9, Asus ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581), and the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 device, Lenovo ThinkPad T495, and the HP Omen X 25 notebooks.

At this point in time, you should remember that there may be a different operating system altogether; also, this functionalities could also be potentially seeded to a future Windows update; but a newer and refreshed OS would make sense considering the fact that future PC’s would more or less likely be 5G-compatible.

However, Microsoft has not officially thrown any light on the next Windows OS. Some reports claim that there could be a Windows 10 version  to be launched in 2020. This version is said to be under test currently.
