Samsung Galaxy Buds launched in India alongside Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E

Samsung launched the new Galaxy S10 trio of phones in India on Friday at a starting price of Rs 55,900 (for the most affordable Galaxy S10E) – which I must say is quite aggressive on Samsung’s part. The Galaxy S10 lineup is now available for pre-orders in India through March 5 from Samsung.com/in, Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Tata CLiQ and select offline retail outlets, and shipping will commence from March 6. The Galaxy S10 will be available for buying for all in India from March 8, the same day that Samsung starts selling these devices globally.  

While announcing a couple of pre-order offers, Samsung also revealed India pricing of its new Galaxy Buds – a pair of truly wireless earbuds that will ideally replace the company’s existing Gear icon X. While consumers who pre-order the Galaxy S10 can get their hands on the Galaxy Buds at an additional Rs 2,999, for everybody else the earbuds will cost Rs 9,990. Samsung hasn’t announced availability details yet, but chances are potential buyers will be able to buy the Galaxy Buds in India from March 8.

The Galaxy Buds look exactly like the Gear Icon X and pack 58mAh batteries while their charging case adds 252mAh more. This is smaller than the capacities of the Gear Icon X but Samsung seemingly has a workaround this constraint in that the Galaxy Buds support wireless charging (in addition to fast wireless charging through USB Type-C). And the Galaxy S10 supports reverse wireless charging. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be able to wirelessly charge the Galaxy Buds. 

The Galaxy buds also support Bluetooth 5.0 and Samsung’s Bixby assistant. 

Samsung had also announced the Galaxy Watch Active (successor to the Gear Sport) and the Galaxy Fit/Ft E fitness band at its Unpacked 2019 keynote Galaxy S10 event on February 20. The company isn’t bringing the Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit to India at this point of time.
