Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi seems to be all set to introduce their Mi Purely Air Mask in India tomorrow. Xiaomi posted a social media teaser suggesting the arrival of their Mi Air anti-pollution mask in India.

To recall, Xiaomi first introduced the Mi Air Mask featuring PM 2.5 nano filter and rechargeable battery in China back in November 2016. It costs 89 yuan (approximately Rs 910).

Xiaomi’s air mask is made out of polyester. It uses a couple of side straps to go around your ears and fit onto your face. It features a small rectangular machine on the right comprising of an ultra-thin fan and PM 2.5 air filter, which is claimed to achieve 99 per cent filtering efficiency.

It features a double detachable design in addition to a custom-built ultra-thin fan with 3-level speed. There is also a power-on button, support for charging, independent air volume memory and a filter cartridge.

Furthermore, the system is claimed to contain a high-density polymer lithium-ion battery and an energy-saving module. From the description of the product, it requires 4-8 hours to charge up to 100 per cent.

The worsening air quality has always been a huge concern in India. Last month, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said in a report that one in eight deaths in the country is caused due to air pollution.
