Apple Launched Its Latest iPhones And iWatch; Here Are The Details

Technology giant Apple on Wednesday launched some of its latest products in an event held at the Steve Jobs Theatre, Cupertino in California

Technology giant Apple on Wednesday launched its latest products at an event held at the Steve Jobs Theatre, Cupertino in California. The signature launch was addressed by Apple CEO Tim Cook who unveiled the most advanced and most expensive iPhones ever-  iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. The prices of the products are set at 750 US Dollars, 1,000 US Dollars, and 1,100 US Dollars respectively. The products will be available in India next month.

The iPhone Xs with a 5.8- inch screen and iPhone Xs Max with 6.5-inch screen features super Retina displays, a faster and improved dual camera system, the first 7-nanometer chip in a smartphone among other features. The company revealed that the products feature the sharpest displays with the highest pixel density of any Apple device. Also, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max have the world's most advanced mobile operating system- iOS 12. 

"iPhone Xs is packed with next-generation technologies and is a huge step forward for the future of the smartphone," PTI quoted Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller as saying.

At the launch event, he further revealed the two versions of iPhone X -  iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. The iPhone Xs Max has the biggest display ever on an iPhone with the most powerful battery which supports an hour and a half extra battery life. On the other hand, iPhone XR will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB models. It will also come in various colours including white, black, blue, yellow, coral and red starting at Rs 76,900 through Apple authorized retailers.

Customers around the globe will have the option to pre-order the iPhone XR from October 19 and it will be available in the market on October 26. It will be available in more than 50 countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, New Zealand, and the US. 

As speculated, Apple has also introduced its watch series 4. The upgraded version is remodelled and re-engineered to make it more user-friendly and help them stay connected, be more active and manage their health in new ways. New hardware and software enhancements are done in the product. However, the fourth-generation Apple Watch retains the original iconic designer.

The new Apple product has come up with new revolutionary health capabilities. The Series 4 watch with watch-OS 5, include a new accelerometer and gyroscope, which are able to detect hard falls. Also, an electric heart rate sensor is installed in the product that can record an electrocardiogram (ECG). The company explained that the watch takes the ECG reading right from the wrist using the new ECG app, with the help of the electrodes built into the Digital Crown and the electrical heart rate sensor in the back crystal. It has granted a classification by the US federal agency Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 

According to a report in PTI, Apple's chief operating officer Jeff Williams in a statement said, "The completely redesigned Apple Watch Series 4 continues to be an indispensable communication and fitness companion, and now with the addition of groundbreaking features, like fall detection and the first-ever ECG app offered directly to consumers, it also becomes an intelligent guardian for your health,"

iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max will be available for pre-order beginning Friday, September 14 and will be available in stores from September 21. Meanwhile, Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS) will be available in 26 countries and its GPS + Cellular version will be available in 16 countries and territories from September 21.
