After the Redmi K20, Poco F1 and Redmi K20 Pro users in India are now receiving the MIUI 11 update – in line with Xiaomi’s official announcement. The Redmi K20 Pro, in fact, is getting the MIUI 11 update early – it was supposed to start getting the update in the second wave. Poco F1 and Redmi K20 Pro users are taking to Xiaomi’s online MIUI forum to confirm getting the MIUI 11 update, alongside sharing screenshots of the said update. It isn’t clear if the MIUI update also bumps up the Android version to Android 10 in the Redmi K20 Pro and Poco F1.

MIUI is the Android-based software that runs on all Xiaomi devices except its Android One phones like the Mi A3. Xiaomi will be updating as many as 28 of its devices to MIUI 11. Xiaomi had announced that it will roll out the MIUI 11 update in a phased manner beginning October end (from October 22, to be precise) at the Redmi Note 8 Pro/Redmi Note 8 India launch keynote event. And indeed, it has started rolling out the update starting with the Redmi K20 and Redmi Note 7 Pro, and now bringing it to more phones.

The Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Note 7s, are other Xiaomi phones set to get the MIUI 11 update in the first phase. In the second phase (November 4-November 12) phones like the Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Y2, Redmi 4, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Max 2 will be updated to MIUI 11. Phones like the Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A and Redmi Note 8 will be updated to MIUI 11 in phase 3 (November 13-November 29). The Redmi Note 8 Pro will meanwhile be the last to get the MIUI update between December 18-26.

Xiaomi claims the MIUI 11 update “significantly upgrades the design element and brings a new set of refined features with a visually enhanced interface with Dark Mode.” It brings “new customizations to the popular Always-on display” in compatible phones like the Redmi K20 Pro. The MIUI 11 update will also bring new dynamic ambient nature sounds for notifications plus a new Mint Keyboard with support for over 25 Indian languages.
