Realme’s budget smartphone - Realme C1 - goes on sale in India today. Realme C1 sale starts 12PM on Flipkart. The smarrphone was officially launched in September. Realme C1 is better known for its affordability and design that comes along with it. The handset falls under India’s budget (sub-Rs 10,000) segment and competes head on with Xiaomi Redmi 6A. Realme C1 costs Rs 7,999. Axis bank customers can avail a 5 per cent discount with their Buzz credit card. What’s more, Jio users can benefit from benefits worth Rs 4,450 and up to 1TB data on a minimum recharge of either Rs 198 or Rs 299. Let’s now take a closer look at its specs and how do they compare with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 6A.

Realme C1 vs Xiaomi Redmi 6A: Looks and design

As far as overall design and looks are concerned, Realme C1 wins hands down. After all, it has aligned itself with the notch design, which is the newest design trend these days specially with premium phones. And that’s what scores brownie points for the mid-ranger. On the other hand, there’s Redmi 6A. Well, in the year 2018, it’s difficult to convince someone to buy a device with bezels above and below the display of this size. Plus, folks over at Xiaomi have stuck with this old-school design for far too long. This is exactly where Realme C1 has an edge over Xiaomi Redmi 6A. Off you go, trendy design!

Realme C1 vs Xiaomi Redmi 6A: Display

Both Realme C1 and the Redmi 6A offer an HD screen. Relame C1 sports a 6.2-inch screen with a notch, significantly reducing the size of bezels above and below the display. Meanwhile, the Redmi 6A sports a 5.45-inch screen. But in spite of thick bezels above and below the display, a display on the Redmi 6A offers a significantly better pixel density count of 295 ppi, as opposed to 270 ppi. So when it comes to watching HD content, we feel the experience would be comparatively better on the Redmi 6A. But of course, if you crave for a notch, you should better go with Realme C1 instead.

Realme C1 vs Xiaomi Redmi 6A: Processing Hardware

While Realme C1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 octa-core chip with Adreno 506 GPU graphics, powering the Redmi 6A is a MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 quad-core chip. Since we have not put either of these devices, it will be a little difficult for us to comment. But all we can say is that Helio A22 is a budget SoC which competes directly with the current-gen Snapdragon 400 series processors. The Redmi 6A is available in two configurations 16GB and 32GB of expandable storage. It comes with 2 gigs of RAM. Realme C1, on the other hand, has a single 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant.

Realme C1 vs Xiaomi Redmi 6A: Camera

Reame C1 houses 13MP (f/2.2) + 2MP (f/2.4) dual rear cameras with autofocus and a dedicated depth sensor for the hardware-driven portrait shots. On the Redmi 6A. there's a single 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). Both the phones feature a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls. Again, this is something we will be able to access with utmost precision once we put both the handsets to tests.

Realme C1 vs Xiaomi Redmi 6A: Software, battery

Xiaomi Redmi 6A packs a 3,000mAh battery. Realme C1, on the other hand, packs a bigger 4,230mAh battery under the hood. Hence comparatively, Realme C1 is expected to last significantly longer than Xiaomi Redmi 6A. Although both the phones run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box, they run their own custom UI on top.

If overall looks and design matter to you the most, Realme C1 is what you have. Plus, Realme C1 seems to have an edge over the Redmi 6A as far as camera and battery specifications are concerned. But Xiaomi has yet another 32GB storage variant to offer, unlike a single 16GB storage option with Realme C1. Both the devices support storage expandability, nonetheless. As for the price, Xiaomi Redmi 6A is cheaper at Rs 6,599 for 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Realme C1 costs Rs 1,400 more for the same configuration.
