Realme U1 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant launched in India, goes on sale from April 10

Oppo spinoff brand Realme has launched a new 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of its popular Realme U1 phone in India at a price of Rs 10,990. The 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the Realme U1 will join its existing 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variants and will be available for buying in India from April 10 from Amazon India and Realme’s online store.  

The Realme U1 has been immensely popular in India – the phone comes with a 6.3-inch 1080p+ display with a teardrop-style notch. It is powered by a Helio P70 processor, the same chipset that also drives the recently launched Realme 3 phone. While announcing the Realme 3, Realme had said that the Helio P70 offers more value for money over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. Based on a more efficient 12nm process, the Helio P70 offers 40 per cent lower power consumption in heavy loading games and 3 per cent better CPU performance in multi-core tasks over Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 which is a 14nm-based processor.  

In terms of cameras, the Realme U1 comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 13MP sensor and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing. On the front, the Realme U1 comes with a 25MP camera. 

The Realme U1 further packs a 3,500mAh battery and runs Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 - it is slated to get the Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 update in June, Realme has confirmed. 

Realme recently slashed the price of the Realme U1 in India – while the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version of the Realme U1 now sells for Rs 9,999, the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the phone now sells for Rs 11,999. The Realme U1 3GB RAM and 64GB storage version, with a price of Rs 10,990, will now sit between the two offering users another option to consider.
