Samsung launched the Galaxy A80 smartphone in India in July at a ridiculously high price of Rs 47,990. This is because even though the Galaxy A80 was unique, its hardware wasn’t. Three months later, Samsung is slashing the price of the Galaxy A80 my a massive Rs 8,000 bringing the price of the phone down to Rs 39,990. The price drop is applicable across online and offline sales channels.

The Galaxy A80 is the first Samsung phone to come with its ‘New Infinity’ display which is a simple way of saying it has no notch or cutout to obstruct your view – it is an all-screen smartphone. The Galaxy A80 does not have a selfie camera in the literal sense – rather, the rear cameras double as front cameras. The Galaxy A80 has a triple rear camera module on the back (48MP+8MP+ToF) that is part of a mechanical lifting mechanism – and when it does lift, the whole module rotates on its axis to function as front camera(s).

Elsewhere, the Galaxy A80 comes with a 6.7-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor paired with 8GB RAM 128GB storage which is not expandable. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI. The Galaxy A80 further packs a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging through USB Type-C.

Samsung Galaxy A70s festive offer

Samsung is also offering free ITFIT Bluetooth earphones worth Rs 1,999 with the recently launched Galaxy A70s as part of a new festive scheme. The Galaxy A70s is Samsung’s first 64MP camera phone and it is available for buying in India at a starting price of Rs 28,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, going all the way to Rs 30,999 for the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Galaxy A70s comes with a 6.7-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Infinity-U style notch. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI. The phone further packs a sizeable 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging through USB Type-C.

The Galaxy A70s uses Samsung’s 32MP GD1 sensor on the front, while on the back it has three cameras – a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor (with 120-degree field-of-view) and a 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography.
