Technology giant Apple is now seemingly all set to begin producing the iPhone X series of smartphones in India as part of a trial. This means that newer iPhone X units which you buy in India could realistically be produced in India.

Now, as per a Bloomberg report, the above move would be resorted to by Apple to pump up sales in the country. Here, it is worth noting that not to long ago, Foxconn had set up units in Chennai. Hence, there is a realistic chance of full-fledged iPhones being actually made in India in addition to the trial run of the iPhone X handsets.

Also, Bloomberg also estimates Apple shipments in India to account for a mere 1% of the shipments. At this point in time, it is worth noting that Chinese players viz Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo have made rapid strides in the country whilst South Korean brand Samsung continues to maintain its position steady.

The iPhone X trials in India, therefore, make sense and this could also potentially help lower certain costs so as to make buying iPhones easier for buyers.

In related Apple updates, the 64GB variant of the iPhone X was very recently offered,  for Rs 74000 from its original pricing of Rs 92000, during the Amazon Apple Fest that concluded on 28 March. Along with this, an iPhone 6S unit was priced at Rs 27999 (from Rs 29900) while the price of the 6th gen Apple iPad was tweaked to Rs 24990 (from Rs 28000). These offers, however, have ended now.
