Taiwan Rejects China's Outrage Over Ties With India, ‘Modi Ji Will Not Be Intimidated’

Taiwan dismissed China's outrage over the exchange between PM Modi & Taiwanese President on June 18. Taiwan labeled China's criticism as ‘unreasonable interference’. Notably, a war of words broke out after the Taiwanese President congratulated the PM on re-election. PM Modi also thanked President Lai for the ‘warm message’. Following this, Chinese announced that they lodged a protest with India over the exchange. China emphasized there is "no such thing as 'President' of Taiwan". Taiwan’s comments come in the backdrop of a U.S. delegation’s visit to India.
