Thane Fruit Seller Arrested for Urinating in Bag While Selling Fruits, Sparks Outrage

A 20-year-old fruit seller was arrested in Thane's Nilje area after a shocking video went viral, showing him urinating into a plastic bag and continuing to sell fruits without cleaning up. The incident triggered widespread outrage among netizens. 

The accused, identified as Ali Khan, was taken into custody by the Manpada police station in Dombivali on Sunday, following the extensive circulation of the disturbing footage, an official from the police station reported, according to news agency PTI.

Khan has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including section 271, which pertains to negligent acts likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life, section 272 for malignant acts likely to spread infection, and section 296 concerning obscenity.

Local civic authorities are also reportedly taking action against Khan, responding to the public's outrage over this unhygienic act that has raised significant health concerns.
