Recently, Guiness World Record posted a video capturing the creation of the largest string cheese ball, which weighs a whopping 636.2 kg (1,402.2 lbs).
This massive feat was created by the Gobierno del Estado de Oaxaca and Municipio Reyes Etla in Mexico's Oaxaca, on July 19, 2024.
According to Guiness World Record, more than 10,000 liters of milk were used to craft the cheese.
The video captures the team’s synchronized effort to make the string cheese ball from scratch and with participants layering them to form the enormous cheese ball.
Starting from small cheese strings wrapped together, the ball grew larger until it reached its record-breaking size.
The previous record, set in 2023, involved 80 workers in Pijijiapan, Chiapas, who made a cheese ball weighing 558 kg using 6,000 liters of milk.
According to reports, it was made with 6000 litres (more than 1500 gallons) of milk and weighed around 558 kilos. The string cheese was none other than quesillo, commonly known as Oaxaca cheese.
