Hassan Nasrallah ‘Fine and Well’: Hezbollah

Amid massive strikes on Beirut in Lebanon, to target Hezbollah's strategic assets and their chief Hassan Nasrallah, the militant group has confirmed to media that their head is fine and has not been eliminated - he is alive. According to NBC News, Hajj Muhammad Afif, the Media Relations Officer of Hezbollah said on Iranian television, “His Eminence the Secretary-General is fine and well and was not in the targeted location.”

There are reports that all communication has been lost with Hassan Nasrallah and also with other senior leaders of Hezbollah.

In a press briefing, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has said, “As part of the extensive aerial operation to degrade Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure and capabilities, we are preparing to conduct strikes on strategic assets that Hezbollah has hidden underground beneath three buildings in the heart of the Dahieh in Beirut. In recent days, we have exposed how Hezbollah hides its weapons in homes and villages across southern Lebanon and in the Beqaa Valley. Now, we will reveal how they store strategic weapons under civilian buildings in the heart of the Dahieh in Beirut.”

The strikes came shortly after the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu , told the UN general assembly in a bellicose speech marked by the walkout of dozens of diplomats that Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah would continue despite international efforts to secure a three-week ceasefire.
